Pressure Altitude is the height above the standard datum plane.
Standard datum plane is the atmosphere pressure level that would exist at mean sea level on a standard day (it correspond to indicated altitude when altimeter is set to 29.92)
Density Altitude is the pressure altitude corrected for non-standard temperature.
Aircraft performance is reduced under conditions of high temperature high humidity and high pressure altitude.
The cruise power setting start with getting your pressure altitude, set your altimeter to 29.92, and looking at temperature you’ll find fuel flow and true airspeed based on the power setting indicated.
The landing distance chartÂ
- Decrease the distances shown by 10% for each 4 knots of headwind
- Increase the distance by 10% for each 60F temperature increase above standard
- For operation on a dry, grass runway, increase distance (both “ground roll” and “total to clear obstacle”) by 20% of the “total to clear obstacle” figure.
