I had the Nissan 200sx 1995 as a first car, then the Mazda protege 2003 and now a Porsche Boxster 1999.
The good:
Awesome car, fast, torque, power to overtake or pass a truck on highway on 3rd or 4th gear no problem.
Great design great look never get tired of it. Every time i look at it it feel great.
Great trim, all leather seat, automatic heating and cooling, seat position memory up to 3 users and much more
Porsche offers great services to their customers or Porsche owner.
The bad:
Not that porwerful
Cost money
Smog cost 3x the price
Maintenance 3x the price
A little bit less gas mileage than a standard car but not that much difference
Insurance Abby more if choosing all included and please do even though it’s used I know it’s sounds ridiculous, but trust me you’ll thank me later when you get issues.
The ugly:
Any repairs or parts cost tons of money
When buying your first Porsche here is what to look for:
– wheel security lock in place and the key that comes with it. All Porsche has a security system to prevent wheel theft, bug if you’re not provided any key you’re fucked and have to buy an entire set at the Porsche dealership before you can replace or remove your wheel
– door manually lock and unlock if not this cost about 600$ to replace.
– 2 keys by preference but not required each key cost about 500$
– key fob remote works if not it’ll cost your 280$ to repair and needed in case your manual door lock goes out and trust me it does happen
– new wheels, it cost about a 1000$ but if you’re smart and go in tirerack.com you get them for half the price but then need to count 100$ for mount and balance and 200$ for full alignment. Don’t under estimate this as the whole point of having a Porsche is its performance on the ground in practicing turns or under the rain etc
– make sure the convertible top is clean, you can see through the tiny window because at night you’ll have issues trust me. Make sure it doesn’t leak for bring it for a wash at the machines to test it and sink your hand on passenger side behind or drive side.
– make sure you get all the tools you need or you’ll have to run after them. Update: I just had to to change my headlight bulb and I had to research a lot and run through many stores to find the tools I needed.
